Circleville Juvenile Correctional Facility Program Building | Circleville, OH | K2M Design

After the success with the housing replacement project, the K2M team was selected to design a Program Building at the Circleville Juvenile Correctional Facility upgrade which included existing housing, create a gymnasium addition, and designing a new security operation control center.

The project consisted of three primary scopes. The existing Housing Unit #1 saw new interior finishes, HVAC system updates, Updates to existing camera, upgrades to the security electronics system to integrate into the newly designed housing units and the rest of the campus. Existing Housing Unit #2 consisted of a similar scope as Housing Unit #1 and renovating one half of the housing unit into a new Program Building. The Program Building scope included structural and masonry modifications to create new offices, the addition of a new Operations Office greatly increased campus visibility and the addition of a new gymnasium. Existing housing unit #3 was demolished creating space for a sports utility field. A second general purpose athletic field was added in the center of the campus during construction with site grading and drainage.

A secondary component of work for our team was the creation and integration of a new campus wide security electronics system where we put in place closed circuit tv, access controls, a paging / intercom system, man-down system, and new security control stations.
