Next project

The Town of Cedar Lake, Indiana hired the K2M team to design a new public safety center for the Police and Fire departments. The new 20,400 SF safety center provides operational synergies between the two departments and maximizes the use of shared amenities & systems. The project aspires to align the departmental operations with the buildings aesthetic and serve as a community anchor in their town center. The new facility focuses on operational efficiency, so first responders can excel at their jobs and in turn, effectively serve their community.

The arrangement of the building on the site not only establishes the structure as part of the civic campus, but also provides the appropriate access for both the Police and Fire departments to respond, while also granting public access to the site without interference. The four pull-through apparatus bays and accompanying aprons allow for safe and efficient vehicular movement on site and provide sufficient space for training scenarios for both departments.
