Chagrin Valley Regional Dispatch

The project commenced in 2022 with the design of a new, single-level, 65,000-square-foot Category IV Dispatch and Emergency Operations Center in Brecksville, Ohio. Initial efforts included a comprehensive Basis of Design specification outlining essential building systems and preliminary cost estimates. K2M conducted thorough evaluations of alternate sites in Bedford, Independence, and Valley View, creating facility condition assessments, site comparisons, and updated cost estimates, focusing on structural integrity, accessibility, utility access, and sustainability.

The finalized program includes a Public Lobby, Administrative Offices, an Emergency Operations Center, a Dispatch Center, IT Department, Kitchen, Staff Support areas, and Building Services, all within a 53,000-square-foot facility designed for immediate functionality and long-term growth, adhering to budgetary constraints.

K2M is providing architecture, interior design, and engineering for the renovation, emphasizing a modern, functional design with an open layout that fosters collaboration. The facility incorporates durable finishes, integrated LED lighting, and biophilic elements to enhance occupant wellness, featuring adaptable workstations and centralized digital displays for effective decision-making. The design prioritizes operational excellence and adaptability for evolving emergency response needs.
