The Dallas Renaissance faced a familiar hospitality challenge: a property in need of renewal to meet evolving brand standards and guest expectations. With worn furniture, inadequate lobby seating, and a bar area creating traffic bottlenecks, the hotel required a comprehensive renovation of the public spaces, including the lobby, reception area, restaurant, bar, and restrooms.

K2M rose to the challenge by fostering close collaboration between the Marriott Brand team, property ownership, and hotel management to develop innovative solutions that captured Dallas’s authentic spirit while satisfying functional requirements. Drawing inspiration from the State Fair of Texas, a beloved local tradition held in the heart of the city, the overarching concept for the project is ‘Enjoy the Ride’. This renovation fuses local identity with brand expression, connecting guests to the soul of Dallas and the curious, creative energy of the Renaissance brand. By weaving together elements of Texan iconography, regional materials, and evocative storytelling, the design offers an immersive, memorable experience that invites guests not just to stay, but to explore.

Our team created a layered design with custom furniture, finishes, and lighting fixtures to ensure strategic furniture placement for a rejuvenated layout. Standout innovations included a custom discovery table, an ingenious drink rail at the bar that solved overflow seating issues, and a distinctive reception desk design with interactive artwork.

The transformation exceeded expectations, with the client expressing complete satisfaction and guests providing overwhelmingly positive feedback about the brighter, more functional spaces that authentically reflect Dallas’s unexpected energy and creative spirit.
