Charlotte Douglas International Airport: East Terminal Expansion Phase II

Next project

Phase II of the East Terminal Expansion was planned during Phase I, and subsequently awarded to the team for full design services toward the end of that project. Recently completed, this addition/ renovation will primarily house the Food Court for passengers utilizing Concourses D & E. Working closely with CLT in parallel with HMS Host, the team worked to create a modern and efficient space to not only satisfy CLT and the concessionaires, but to elevate the overall passenger experience. This addition of 45,000 square foot and renovation of 6,800 square feet will also add capacity to the undersized series of stairs, elevators, and escalators serving Concourse E, in addition to the typical back of the house and circulation spaces. The Baggage level includes a new enclosed loading dock, storage areas, dumpster enclosure, and baggage conveyor alteration and extension. The Office Level includes approximately 13,700 square feet of new shell and core office space. The building was designed to reflect the same level of finish and detail as the Phase I project undertaken by the team, which was very well received by the Airport and passengers. Phase II was designed to be LEED Silver Certified.
