
Todd started off studying structural and civil engineering, but decided to go back to school and get his Master of Architecture degree. After moving to Indianapolis, he began working at a firm on all sorts of projects, from a parking garage at Ball State to the Children’s Museum and People Mover monorail system. Through that experience, he was introduced to the Village of WestClay and eventually became their staff architect reviewing all proposed construction for historical, architectural accuracy. It wasn’t until he worked on assisted living facilities at other firms that he realized that his experience in residential design review was well suited to making a 300,000-square-foot facility seem more like home, with attention to scale, massing, and detail.
