Signature Flight Support KWIA Airport
The Signature Flight Support project at KWIA airport involves demolition of the existing FBO terminal structure, new parking under elevated structure, a new 5,000SF FBO terminal building along with a 1,800 SF office renovation for administrative offices including all site infrastructure and development in the existing hangar.
Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority Stock Island
For FKAA’s Stock Island Seawater Desalination Facility renovation, K2M provided planning, concept design, and cost effective upgrades to the facility.
Marathon City Hall
The Marathon City Hall was a ground up building, K2M complete interior design, site design, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services.
Indiana Army National Guard Maintenance Facility
This new construction 29,654 SF facility, affectionately referred to as “Jiffy Lube on steroids”, was designed to enhance the maintenance support and mobilization readiness for military vehicles.
Key West International Airport
The Customs terminal project included security enhancements, existing conditions analysis, interior design modifications to comply with US Dept. of Homeland Security standards, as well as relocation of the transit terminal, addition of a waiting area, reception desk and restrooms.
Marathon Customs and Border Patrol
The Florida Keys Marathon International Airport went through a complete interior renovation of it’s Customs and Border Patrol wing including office spaces, holding cells, and processing areas.
PFEC Marathon Utility and Public Works
K2M Design is providing architectural, MEP and structural engineering services to complete the new 10,000SF metal pre-fabricated Marathon Utility and Public Works Maintenance Building.
GSA Region 4 IDIQ
K2M Design has been retained by the U.S. General Services Administration to provide continuing A/E services for the nation’s largest landlord. Recently completed was a two-phase approach (design and construction) for the Navy Office Space, 9th Floor, Timberlake Federal Building, Tampa, Florida. The intent of this project was to modify approximately 11,000 square feet of project area. The work consisted of a demolition component and reconstruction component. Also completed was work on the Golden Collum Courthouse in Ocala, FL. Work included renovation of the historic lobby area to enhance security, increased accessibility accommodations for visitors, and construction of support spaces for jurors.
Key West Fire Station #2
K2M Design completed the design of a new Fire Station on a 1.44 acre site in the Historic Old Town District of Key West, Florida.
MacDill AFB IDIQ
K2M Design is in association with construction partners, were awarded an IDIQ and design build contract in support of MacDill Air Force Base. Our team performs a wide variety of services for the base. K2M Design provided architectural design and engineering support for the renovation of Special Operations Command (SOCOM) Rooms 1220 & 1229.
The project required a phased renovation requiring Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering Coordination and Construction Administration. The project required the remediation of hazardous materials and the coordination of security escorts due to the highly secure facility where work was performed.
Monroe County IDIQ
K2M Design has been engaged in a continuing architectural/engineering services contract with Monroe County, Florida since 2005. K2M provides studies, design, contract documents, and project
administration of small projects involving renovation, new construction, repurposing, and other capital improvements, in which construction costs do not exceed $2,000,000.00. Projects have included: Monroe County Public Works Building, ADA Compliance Assessment Report and Documentation ( 574,724 SF), Key West International Airport and Marathon Airport Customs and Border Protection, Higgs Beach Pier Reconstruction, Veterans Park Design and Reconstruction, Big Pine Key Park Development – Constructability Review, Big Pine Key Community Building New Construction, Boca Chica Road Engineering, Plantation Key Fuel Facility New Construction, Key Largo Fueling Facility, Sugarloaf Key Letter of Map Revision, Palm Drive Bridge Repair, Crime Lab Renovation, Joe London Fire Training Stair Renovation, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office – Roof Replacement, Key West Library Roof Replacement, Whitehead Street Jail Existing Conditions Review, Marathon Courthouse Renovation and Expansion, Tavernier Meeting Hall Renovation, County Jail Cooling Tower Structure Replacement, DJJ Expansion / Relocation, Immigration Intake Center, Key West International Airport Customs & Border Protection, Marathon Airport Customs & Border Protection, and ADA improvements (6 packages).
NASA Glenn IDIQ
K2M Design is proud to have a ten year relationship with NASA through an IDIQ contract providing Deferred Maintenance Assessments. The DMA program is instrumental in enabling NASA to manage its annual maintenance budget and communicate effectively to Congress its needs. In addition to its role in providing a facilities condition report on every building in the NASA system worldwide, K2M has completed projects required to rehabilitate, repair, construct, modify, or demolish research and institutional facilities. These projects have included: the Space Power Facility, Improvements to Building B2, Campus Security upgrades, Campus Entry Design, Fitness Center Addition, Design and Addition of Buildings 55 and 54, Post Occupancy Evaluations and Fall Protection.
K2M is the coordinator of the LEED process for designated projects that are required to be a minimum LEED Silver Certification by the US Green Building Council. NASA requires that sustainable design principles be incorporated into all projects.
Ohio Department of Transportation
K2M Design was selected by the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to develop the criteria for two new full service maintenance facilities. The 68,000 SF facility at Warrensville Heights and the 56,000 SF facility in Columbiana County. The Full Service Maintenance Facility at Warrensville is masonry construction with a separate building for materials storage. The Maintenance Facility was designed with the following features; Administrative and Office areas, Mechanics Bay, Welding Bay, Wash Bays, Vehicle Storage and Decanting and Dumpster Station. The Columbiana facility is a Pre‐Engineered Metal Building designed to facilitate Administrative areas, Mechanics Bay, Welding Bays, Wash Bays, Vehicle Storage, and Decanting and Dumpster Stations. In addition to the Full Service Maintenance Facility, Salt Storage, Material Storage and Cold Storage were also designed pre‐engineered buildings with cast in place concrete walls with fabric coverings. The location includes a fueling island and brining and calcium station. In addition to the Maintenance Facilities the K2M team provided Site Planning and Criteria Documents for the projects. As part of the Criteria Architect services being utilized by the OFCC and Ohio Department of Transportation our team has provided criteria review and construction administration services for the construction phase of the projects to the design/build contractors as an Owner Representative. These services included providing sufficient clarity on key Owner needs while allowing maximum flexibility.
NAVFAC Southeast IDIQ
K2M Design has teamed with multiple construction firms for design / build projects at NAVY Key West. The work involves all design, documents, coordination, engineering, and the full compliment of tools, equipment, labor, transportation, and supervision to renovate buildings. The work may include building additions, exterior and interior repairs, utility upgrades, maintenance based work, and site improvements on bases governed under the Mini MACC project provisions. Our team provides services as required including architecture, engineering, project management, specification writing, shop drawing preparation, cost estimating, sustainable services, and force protection in accordance with UFC standards for design.
